The pharmacy's role

Prescription fulfillment and a pharmacist you can reach

A licensed provider evaluates whether a prescription belongs in your plan. When a valid patient-specific prescription is sent to Lititz Apothecary, our role is to review it, prepare it when it is a preparation we make, dispense it, and answer medication-use questions. We do not diagnose, and we do not publish medication pricing on this page.

What we compound

Sublingual GLP-1 preparations, made here

We compound sublingual GLP-1 preparations in our own lab on Main Street in Lititz. They are non-sterile, patient-specific, and prepared only on a prescription written by a licensed provider for a named patient — the same way everything else we compound is prepared.

Whether a sublingual preparation is appropriate for you is a clinical decision for your provider, not a question this page can answer. What we can tell you is what we prepare and what needs to be on the prescription. Our compounding is non-sterile throughout; we do not prepare sterile or injectable medications.

Call (717) 626-2222 and ask for a pharmacist if you or your provider want to talk a formulation through before the prescription is written.

What to expect

A provider-led pathway

  1. 1

Your provider evaluates your health history and determines whether a prescription is appropriate.

  2. 2

    The provider sends a prescription

The order comes to the pharmacy with the patient-specific directions and strength.

  3. 3

    A pharmacist reviews the order

We contact the prescriber if formulation or prescription details need clarification.

  4. 4

    Receive counseling

The pharmacy explains use and storage according to the prescription and directs clinical questions back to your provider.
